Employee Story: Janice

[The following is a statement received by one of Relph Benefit Advisors' clients from a grateful employee, and is shared with her permission.]

"My name is Janice. I was hired by my employer in June, 2007. I have had high blood pressure for the past 12 years. My doctors have all told me to lose at least 30-40 lbs. I have tried over the years, but I was not successful.

employee healthy diet weight lossAs a result of my employer's biometrics program in January 2010, I finally received my "wake up call". I was, of course, extremely overweight and on top of that, the test results showed that my Glucose levels were elevated. Which makes me a borderline diabetic. I know how horrible that disease can be—therefore, I did not want to live with it. The nurse told me that I have a chance to reverse that test result by exercising and changing my diet. I immediately started exercising daily and I have completely changed my diet.

As a result, I have lost 10 lbs. and counting. I am now very determined to lose not only 30-40 lbs., but my goal is to lose 100 lbs. in order to get back to my ideal weight—hopefully the weight I was in High School.

Thank you to my employer from the bottom of my heart. This will be the start of a NEW LIFE for me.

Sincerely,

Janice"
